Windsor Historic Halfway Homestead Park
Designed to achieve agricultural heritage site status, this park makes visible the many cultural, agricultural, and natural histories of the site to visitors and community members. Home to the two of the oldest remaining historical structures in town — The Historic Halfway House and The Dickey Farmhouse — the new design re-imagines these spaces as offices, classrooms, and event spaces while enhancing the surrounding grounds to provide opportunities for nature play, gardening, community gathering, outdoor grilling and cooking, performances, educational sessions, recreation, and habitat restoration. The planting design celebrates native plants with low water demand while providing habitat and protecting existing trees.
